  9.           ppmtomap - extract all colors from a portable pixmap
  10.  
  11.      SYNOPSIS
  12.           ppmtomap [-sort] [-square] [ppmfile]
  13.  
  14.      DESCRIPTION
  15.           Reads a portable pixmap as input.  Produces a portable
  16.           pixmap as output, representing a color map of the input
  17.           file. All N different colors found are put in an Nx1
  18.           portable pixmap.  This color map file can be used as a
  19.           mapfile for ppmquant or ppmtogif.
  20.  
  21.      OPTIONS
  22.           -sort
  23.                Produces a portable pixmap with the colors in some
  24.                sorted order.
  25.  
  26.           -square
  27.                Produces a (more or less) square output file, instead
  28.                of putting all colors on the top row.
  29.  
  30.           All flags can be abbreviated to their shortest unique
  31.           prefix.
  32.  
  33.      WARNING
  34.           If you want to use the output file as a mapfile for
  35.           ppmtogif, you first have to do a ppmquant 256, since
  36.           ppmtomap is not limited to 256 colors (but to 65536).
